Working on a Saturday night
Mood:  a-ok
Topic: God's Love
Probably no body in the world works til 10:16 pm on a Saturday night but me. I think I am the most boring person in the world, for several reasons. "Dull as plank" Princess Diana would have said, correct? My life is "on hold" a little bit, because I filed for divorce, then agreed to reconcile, but I had torn my aprt apart packing, so now I have to move or unpack. I then just became weary with it, overwhelmed with such and thought to myself, writing is what I like to do, and so I am doing that and let the chips fall where they may. It is what it is. Just like that, decided the chaos of moving is too much for the condition my condition is in. Who said, that phrase? What condition my condition is in? Well, let me take a quick inventory. I have divorce papers filed so will have to undo them, if I reconcile, and I am sure that probably is what God would want me to do. And my living quarters are a shambles where I had pulled stuff out to sort and decide what to move out of state with me. And I gave away the front room full of furniture so it is empty. And my daughter is coming to visit and this place looks like a whirlwind went through at warp speed! And it did, and the whirlewind was me,gloria. So I felt sooooooo sorry for myself and I cried, boo-hooed for quite some time. Then in character for myself, decided 'that was enough of that and get something done'. So that is why I am writing at 10:25 pm now. As to what this has to do with the love of God, you might ask? It is written,"The Lord preserveth all them that love HIM; but all the wicked will HE destroy." [Psalms 145: 20] I am a woman and the Psalms were written by a man who was first a shepherd then a King, and in the process of that transformation, had bouts of self-pity, depression, and then praise, almost cyclical. So I love the Psalms because they comfort me so much, and sometimes The Bible is the only thing that makes any sense to me. I am very grateful that God caused HIS words to be written down for all of humanity. Salvation Is Free Salvation Is Free; and it is from Jesus alone.

Selfish individualism v the love of God
Topic: God's Love
by Gloria Poole Pappas

I think a lot and I write a lot and have arrived at this article to put into words what I believe is the solution for any nation. The problems of any nation seem to hinge upon certain factors. Psalms 33:12 is written, ?blessed is the nation whose God is The Lord.? Sometimes it seems as if the biggest problem in the ?United? States, that are anything but united these days, is the idea that a person, any person has no duty to anyone but himself or herself. In my efforts to plead the cause of the preborn humans and their right from God Himself for life, I am confronted with people who think that what happens on this earth is all that happens, but it is not so. That attitude seems to account for the abortion industry where the mother takes no thought of a duty to her preborn baby, and it accounts for the drug users who do not care about their wives or their children; and it accounts for the shopaholics who prefer to squander their time with their children by working for pay, so they can spend more. Those are the three most immediate examples I can think of, but the list is endless. The homosexuals who do not think about reproducing themselves for the sake of their family line or name, or the gratitude of their parents are also guilty of a narcisstic selfishness that obliterates from consideration everyone around them. The politicians who make decisions based upon what is good for their political careers and not what is good for the nation are the worst as far as the public laws of the nation is concerned.

I sat down and applied myself to know what would God say about the US and I wondered if I could ask Him to come down in person, sit a spell and talk to me the way He talked to Abraham, what would HE say? I thought if a person could back up the world?s knowledge to a point where it made sense, where would that point be? Where in time was the truth so bold and so clear that there was no confusion ? That time would be when God created the world and there was just Him and then Adam, his first creation in the human form, and then Eve, God?s second creation in the human form. The paradise existed and the words of God were apparently precisely clear and simple to Adam as he was able to record them in some way for eternity. What was God?s first Commandment to Adam and Eve? It is written,? And God blessed them, and God said unto them, ?be fruitful and multiply; and replenish the earth and subdue it; and have dominion.? Genesis 1:28. Start at the beginning or make first things first! So if God?s Commandment then was to be fruitful and multiply and by doing so, replenish the earth, why are the leaders of nations and some of their government approved ngos teaching the opposite of God?s words? It can only be for two reasons.

Either they do not believe in God or His words, or they do not want to replenish but destroy. If they do not believe, why are they elected to office by believers? Isn?t the words in Titus 1:15, ?unto the pure all things are pure; but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving, is nothing pure, but even their mind and conscience is defiled.? So if their minds are not pure, but defiled and they have no conscience, why would anyone want them to make public laws? If the second argument were true, that by being in office they intend to destroy the nation, then who would they be serving? Where does the destroyer come from? According to John 8:44, those who deceive and murder are from the devil. So then if those who murder innocent babies are from the devil, why do God?s people vote for them? Why are they elected to office? Jesus repeats the message when He says, ?the thief cometh not but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy; I AM come that they might have life and have it more abundantly.? [John 10:10] So again I ask,if killing and deceiving is from the devil and life and truth are from God, why do God?s people elect deceivers and murderers of the preborn to office? If the citizens can grasp certain basics, then they can make the lives of everyone better and stabilize their nations.

How does a nation combat the selfish individualism? It is certainly not by teaching socialism or communal property?that experiment has failed dismally for common sense reasons. When no one owns anything, then no one takes care of anything or anyone, since the attitude is ?let the government do it?, and collectively the nation falls apart. So what then is the truth and the solution that sets nations back on track toward prosperity and life?

It is written, ?And now, Israel [and any who love God] what doth The Lord thy God require of thee? But to fear The Lord thy God, to walk in all His ways, and to love Him, and to serve The Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, to keep the Commandments of The Lord, which I command thee this day, for thy good?? [Deuteronomy 10:12-13] Jesus, the Godhead in the flesh?Messiah-- repeated that same message several times. Jesus said unto him, ?thou shalt love The Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. And the second is like unto it, thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two Commandments hang all the law and the prophets.?[ Matthew 22:37-40]

If a nation is filled with people who love God first and serve Him and obey His commandments, and then love their neighbors as they are commanded by God to do, would there be any crime? Would someone who loves with the love of God steal, or covet, or commit adultery knowing it would break someone?s heart? Would they deceive, or murder the innocents? If the love of God, that all encompassing, sacrificial love of Jesus existed in each person?s heart, could that person be selfish? Or would he be like Jesus, about The Father?s business, doing good deeds, feeding the hungry, healing the sick, casting away demons and idols? Didn?t Jesus Himself take a whip and drive away those who attempted to pervert the purpose of the Temple of worship by their retail business of exchanging coinage from nations?

If the citizens of every nation followed the words of Jesus to ?teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of The Father, and of The Son, and of the Holy Ghost, teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you? [Matthew 28:19-20] and the love of God was taught, would the world be a better place? In at least seven Scriptures God admonishes us to teach our children His laws. Deuteronomy 4:10 is written, ?The Lord said unto me,?gather me the people together, and I will make them hear My words, that they may learn to fear Me all the days that they shall live upon the earth, and that they teach their children.? Again, in Deuteronomy 11:19, it is repeated, ?and ye shall teach them [the words of God] your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou riseth up.And thou shalt write them upon the door posts of thine house and upon thy gates, that thy days may be multiplied, and the days of your children...? The message of teach your chidren the words of God is repeated in Leviticus 10:11, 2 Samuel 1:18, Deuteronomy 31:19,.Deuteronomy 6:7, and many other scriptures. Jesus, the Godhead in the flesh when He came to earth, showed by example His love and concern for children when He called a little one to Him and told the observers that unless they became as pure in their hearts as the little ones they would not enter into the kingdom of heaven. [Matthew chapter 18], and He warned them that any who would harm a little one, ?it would be better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck and he were drowned in the depth of the sea. Woe...?. Jesus laid down the law about the treatment and attitude of children with His words when He said, ?whoso shall receive one such little child in My name, receiveth Me.? [Matthew 18:5]. Would the ultimate child abuse that kills the infant, [abortion] be ?legal? if the nation loved God? Would the physical and emotional abuse of children and the sexual molestation and the sexual predators be rampant in all nations if the words and behaviors of Jesus were exemplified by the men of the world? Would sexual ?trafficking? the polite, pc word for prostitution and pimping, be a problem in the ?United? States or anywhere if the words of Jesus were taught in the schools?

What other problems would the words of God solve in this nation or any nation? Ephesians 5:25 & 28 is written, ?husbands love your wives, even as Christ also loved the Church and gave Himself for it...so ought men to love their wives as their own bodies.? If men loved their wives like Jesus said too, would there be any unhappy wives? Would there be any divorces? If a man had the attitude he is supposed to sacrifice for his wife and love her without question and even die for her as Christ gave Himself if need be, would not that love so permeate the household and the heart of his wife that she would have no interest in another man or be tempted to leave him? Would there be any jealousy or bitterness in the hearts of the wives of America if men loved women instead of themselves? If God?s love was the foundation, could anything shake the marriage? Wouldn?t any woman love a man who loved her like that ? I often think of that song, ?I can love you like that? that I heard The Second Generation Osmond brothers sing in New York and I can tell you, I was stunned by the power and love of that song the way they sang it! Women have hearts of flesh and they are affected profoundly when their husbands love them truly with the love of God.

Now, what about the children? Would they love the father and the mother who loved them sacrificially? Who taught them right from wrong in order that they might achieve success and love? Who diligently, patiently and faithfully taught by example the love of God to them? Wouldn?t they grow up to be secure in the concept and belief in love and wouldn?t they also have the courage to marry and be parents? Wouldn?t they replicate the love of the parents? And the love of God to their children in turn? When a nation teaches the children the right beliefs the nation achieves peace, joy, prosperity because as the children grow up in love and faith, they live by it.

What is the reward for this kind of living for the people, the home, and the nation? The peace of God! Jesus said, ?peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you, not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.? [John 14:27] The message is repeated in II Corinthians 13:11, ?be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace, and the God of love and peace shall be with you.?
