Geneva Convention defines starvation as war crime
Quote from article, The Nazis used starvation to kill" in Newsmax.com, March 26,2005:

"To begin with, there is the long-standing and internationally accepted Geneva Convention: "The prohibition to starve civilians as a ‘method of warfare’ is included in Article 54 of Protocol I and Article 14 of Protocol II."

According to the International Criminal Court, starvation as a means of killing is a war crime. The Court noted: "Intentionally using starvation of civilians as a method of warfare by depriving them of objects indispensable to their survival, including willfully impeding relief supplies as provided for under the Geneva Conventions' is a serious violation of the laws and customs of war [52]."

Federal Judge James W is not the Saviour after all!
If the US didn't know it before, they know it now. Neither Federal Judges, nor the US Congress feel any duty to abide by the written words of the US Constitution! I don't think anyone is surprised by that who has been watching the activist Judges across the nation and in the US Supreme Court put a spin on the written words about life, liberty and property. In Connecticut, they are finding out that "eminent domain" means to the Supreme Court that all property is owned by the government. That is one of the platforms of the Communist Manifesto that Harvard has been pushing for decades now. Another principle of communism is that human life is not important, and that all decisions are to be made by communist leaders for the "good" [power, status] of the party, not the good of the citizens.

Well, today the US has endured another assault against liberty by the ruling of Federal Judge James Whittemore, against life for Terri Schiavo. No one is surprised. He was purposely chosen for his "job" by the feds because he was proabort and the proabortion President at that time, Bill Clinton, appointed him and shielded him from personal attack from Arlen Specter. By the way, don't you think the word, "specter" --ghost or apparition, is right for that wicked man?
Now, why is anyone surprised about the prodeath Judge's ruling for death? Don't the wicked do their evil and doesn't God know it? Isn't God more powerful than satan? We as a nation don't realize it yet, but we are deep in the throes of the abortion war. The parallel of today's ruling by the federal judge was similar to the Reichstag passing the laws labeling Jews as "non-Aryans" for expediency in convincing their nation that it was all right to kill "non-Aryans".Terri is labeled, "unfit for life"by the death Judge, but God is more powerful than any human Judge--we know that!
I am reminded of how terribly grim the situation must have been as the Israelites walked out of Egypt and out of bondage on foot with the Pharoah and his troops in hot pursuit. The situation must have been very scary to all in that group! The tension built up to the last possible moment that God had to do something and HE did the dramatic and the powerful and HE eliminated His enemies! While dealing with HIS enemies of course, the believers were awed and they were also saved. So let us all watch and pray and see what God will do in this case to save Terri Schiavo from the villains.

Michael Schiavo trumps Congress
Today, that wicked man Michael Schiavo who has been petitioning the Court in Florida to kill his handicapped wife, trumped the Congress. He and the phony Judge* George Greer, refused to obey the subpoena issued by Congress to Terri for her to appear for evaluation. They proceeded to remove her feeding tube. However, they have failed to take God into account in this situation and the millions of people who are praying and watching this case. Will killing the benefactor by the beneficiary become law? Will evil prevail? Will that incompetent and equally wicked Congress just roll over and play dead now that they have been made a fool of? Will God do something? Or does HE think the US deserves a sorry-good-for-nothing and worst than useless, Congress? I am praying that GOD will do something and that it will be spectacular. Of course, HE has already created in the US the same kind of scenario that existed when the Jews were in bondage in Egypt thousands of years ago. God has created the modern day US version of Pharaoh,[George Greer] who refuses to honor God's words of "thou shalt not kill" and who has openly defied the prophets sent to warn him, and he has insisted that he himself is the only law and that there is no God. So now, will God drown the wicked in the sea? Will He use this case to utterly destroy the US Congress and all its wicked selfish "members" who serve their false gods instead of the ONE true God? What will God do? Stay tuned to my blogs or to http://postitnews.com [click on blue square, "Prolife activst"

* phony because he does not know that the 14th Amendment gives persons the right to life, and Terri is a person by all definitions. Greer must be an imposter.

Downgraded Biotech Industry, per Standard & Poors!
According to Forbes News, Standard and Poor's Equity Research downgraded the entire biotech industry from a positive rating to a "neutral" one, for many reasons. See Forbes article, "Biotech Bargain Hunting" by Peter Kang, March 14,05. This is very good news to me as a Registered Nurse and prolifer because it means biotech will not be as attractive to investors. And that is very good news! Biotech industries use human cells, human flesh and blood to create products for human consumption whether by injection or ingestion. Either way, I ask often, 'what about cannabalism appeals to you?' when anyone tries to tell me that biotech is good. Biotechnology is BAD news everywhere globally and I believe it is the cause of the AIDS worldwide problems and many others because the contaminated "cell lines" of human cells mixed with animals even rodents,[so filthy God said not to touch them] were passed around the research labs around the world. The same disease in a vial was transmitted to many places and the unsterile collection devices multiplied the problems. The places that buy blood or tissues are not done by Operating Room Standards of sterility by any stretch of imagination and even if they were, the use of human flesh and blood to create products for sale is an abomination to God! The idea of swallowing a pill made of humans is so repugnant to me that it gags me to think it. I just avoid all meds and have for decades since I began to discover just what the motives were i.e. huge profits to corrupt companies that have no more concern for the public than a wicked and corrupt politician has. Wicked and corrupt politicians are the root cause of the biotech industry having any legal right to operate in this nation or any nation. All human baby dicing and slicing processing for "research" factories need to be permanently shut down!

The path of life

US Supreme Court ends killing as punishment for minors!
This past Tuesday, in the case, Roper v Simmons, the US Supreme Court decided that capital punishment of minors is illegal in the US. Well, Hallelujah Jesus! Let us all pray now that the truth will sink in--that killing of minor children in the wombs of their mothers is also illegal, and that all righteous lawyers will jump on this case like a duck on a June bug; and shut down every abortion clinic, every abortionist, every ngo that promotes the killing of minor babies as a "solution".. The pivotal line is drawn--killing of minors is illegal in the US as a punishment for crime or sins. Therefore it surely must follow to the logical and rational minds that if killing for misdeeds, crimes and sins is illegal then it is also illegal to kill the law-abiding, peaceful in the womb, and other places citizens also. There is not a two-tiered government in the US! Maybe this was the backdoor approach to delegalizing abortion and if so, then all I can say is THANK YOU GOD for bringing it about! And thank you to the Supreme Court also for seeing the light. gloria poole pappas,(RN)

Statement by Attorney General Phill Kline of Kansas
The beginning sentence of this Press Release is the kicker about the importance: "Senator and Dr. Barnett, and Senators Wagle and Journey are correct: rape is a serious crime, and when a 10.11, or 12 year old is pregnant, they have been raped under Kansas law." The AG's Press Release is a call for national and international support in the cause of defending children from sexual predators. Read his whole statement at: www.accesskansas.org/ksag/Press/2005/0224childrenrape_statement.htm/ Do your part in your state to bring the issue of child rape and sexual predator tolerance by schools and abortion clinics to the forefront. Minor children cannot give consent to sex and that is the way it should be! Children do not need to be sexually active and they do need a childhood.

Risk of Psych Hospitalization Rises After Abortion
5/13/2003 News Release from The Elliott Institute, used with permission. http://www.afterabortion.info/ Risk of Psychiatric Hospitalization Rises After Abortion New Study Riles Abortion Defenders Springfield, Ill. - Is abortion a benign experience for women? Or can it cause or contribute to emotional problems, even severe ones? The American Psychological Association (APA), which has consistently lobbied in favor of abortion rights, has frequently insisted that abortion is a benign experience that predominately brings relief to most women. Some APA members, such as Nancy Adler and Brenda Major of the University of California, have even charged that those who say abortion can cause emotional problems are guilty of misleading the public. To support this view, Adler has argued that abortion is so common that if it did cause emotional problems, the nation's psychiatric wards would be filled with the evidence. Now, a new study published in the latest issue of the Canadian Medical Association Journal (CMAJ) shows that such evidence does exist. A review of the medical records of 56,741 California Medicaid patients revealed that women who had abortions were 2.6 times more likely than delivering women to be hospitalized for psychiatric treatment in the first 90 days following abortion or delivery. Depressive psychosis was the most common diagnosis. Rates of psychiatric treatment remained significantly higher for at least four years. A previously published study by the same authors revealed that women who had abortions were also more likely to require subsequent outpatient mental health care. According to the CMAJ study's lead author, David Reardon, Ph.D., a common complaint among participants in post-abortion recovery programs is that when they raised the issue of their past abortions while seeking mental health care, their therapists dismissed abortion as irrelevant. "Therapists who fixate on the 'abortion is benign' theory, either out of ignorance or allegiance to defensive political views on abortion, are doing a great disservice to women who need understanding and support," said Reardon, who recently co- authored a book, Forbidden Grief: The Unspoken Pain of Abortion. "This study, based on objective medical records, validates the claims of tens of thousands of women in post-abortion recovery programs." In an effort to offer an opposing view, CMAJ editors invited psychologist Brenda Major, an advocate for the view that abortion is therapeutic, to submit a commentary on the study appearing in the same issue of the CMAJ. In her commentary, Major charged that the study's implication that abortion can cause psychiatric problems is misleading. She argued other factors, such as marital status or prior psychological problems, may offer better explanations for the fact that psychiatric problems are more common among aborting women. Reardon concedes that these other factors may also contribute to psychiatric illness but insists that abortion can both aggravate pre-existing problems and trigger new ones. He dismissed Major's commentary as a product of "the abortion distortion effect." Reardon particularly questioned Major's choice to omit from her comments any mention her own study recently published in the Archives of General Psychiatry. That study revealed that 1.4 percent of the women interviewed two years after their abortions suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder solely attributable to their abortions. Even such a low percentage, projected on the 1.3 million American women undergoing abortions eachyear, would result in 18,200 cases of PTSD each year, or over a half million cases since 1973. Including other types of negative reactions, Reardon said, could easily increase the overall complication rate by twenty times or more. This is the seventh study Reardon and his colleagues have published on abortion complications in the last eighteen months. Among the other studies, also published in major peer reviewed journals, one revealed that among women with an unintended first pregnancy, those who had abortions were at significantly higher risk of clinical depression an average of eight years later compared to similar women who carried their unintended first pregnancies to term. Higher rates of suicide and substance abuse among women who had abortions were also revealed in the other studies published by the research team. More information and a link to the study is available at: http://www.afterabortion.org/news/inpatient CMAJ.html

Can you stand it? What a bunch of losers that Supreme Ct is.
Can you stand that the US "Supreme" Court chickened out of making any decisions about the Roe case? Have you ever read of nine more educated but evil people in your life? Maybe Hitler's own were worst. They allowed the widescale massacre of millions of Jews too,but the current "supreme" court is worst, come to think of it. Hitler killed his millions but the supremes have killed their tens of millions and maybe hundreds of millions. Their ungodly and infamous decision has been exported to many countries using the euphemism "women's rights" but I wonder how it would sit with that Jewish woman on the court if they said, "German's right to kill the Jews" was a true right? I wonder how it would sit with the Jewish men on that Court if their own complicence in the daily slaughter of many Jewish babies was really put down in the history books? How about this for a headline?
"Jewish woman, Ruth Bader-Ginsberg kills Jewish babies". Wouldn't that open the pandora's box into her German roots and ancestry? Maybe she is a direct descendant of Hitler? That could explain her willingness to massacre millions, I suppose.

But let me go on the record as saying I am always opposed to the killing of inncents, wherever they live, whatever race they belong too, whatever their religion is, whatever their politics or skin color, or degree of assets, or their age, or their political influence, or their lifestyle.Killing of innocent humans with premeditation is a sin against God who said, "thou shalt not kill" [Exodus 20:13] and who even wrote it in stone! It should also be a crime in civlized societies.

Congressman calls for end to abortion & Biotech news
There is a wonderful must read article "Will Roe v Wade be heard?" written by US Congressman Trent Franks, at www.townhall.com/columnists/GuestColumns/Franks20050219.shtml/ Also, there is a revealing article in the USAToday entitled, "Biotech jobs v Morality" on Feb 15, 2005, and originally in Money Magazine. That article lists 1,193 biotech companies; ONE THOUSAND and ONE HUNDRED and NINETY-THREE biotech companies in the US already. NOw, do you get the feeling as I do that the whole debate about embryonic stem cells is to legitimize what they are already doing to avoid law suits from the women who aborted their babies but did not give permission for their babies to be ground up into fodder for "research"?? That is the first thing that came to my mind when I read that article by Money magazine and USAToday! It also lists the Governors of the eleven states involved in those hooligan activities and I am ashamed to say, Georgia,my native State, with 63 companies,is one of them; but so is California =420;NY=66; Massachusetts=193; North Carolina=88,Maryland=84; New Jersey=77; Texas= 64;Pennsylvania=63; Washington=42; and Florida=33. Now I want to ask you, what is wrong with this picture? How is it that the states that have some of the greatest catholic populations also have the greatest number of biotech, which I call 'baby-processing, cut/slice/dice/' factories? California with it masses of illegal immigrants who are predominately Mexican and catholic, has the greatest number of those ungodly places--how do you explain that? And New York has the same scenario, plus it has the infamy of being home to the nation's head honcho in baby-killing centers, Planned Parenthood, and it is on that list of the Infamous Eleven States. But how do you explain New Jersey being on that list when the Priests for Life office is located in NJ and NJ's US Senator is supposedly 100% prolife? How can this happen? Is it because the catholic church speaks out of both sides of its mouth on these issues--tied to the demoncrats through the likes of Ted Kennedy, their poster bad boy, and John Kerry, and the dozens, and dozens of other catholic but not adhering to church doctrine politicians?

Are we witnessing the Judgement of God on America?
"Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God; they shall fall by the sword; their infants shall be dashed to pieces; and their women with child ripped up. O Israel, return unto The Lord, thy God for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity.Take with you words and turn to The Lord, and say unto Him: take away all iniquity and receive us graciously, so we will render the calves of our lips [offerings]." Hosea 12:16-14:1-2

I have been working diligently for years to change enough hearts and minds to righteousness on the issues of abortion. I am praying the US Supreme Court will do the right thing in God's eyes and end the terrible destruction of the preborn citizens. But I read this verse above and I wonder is that the punishment of God on this nation and does God intend to destroy this nation through implosion, and depopulation? One has to wonder!

Drug-Resistant HIV
From Medical News Today:
[quote]
New York City Health Officials Announce Detection of Rare Drug-Resistant HIV Strain, Issue Alert
14 Feb 2005

New York City... Department of Health and Mental Hygiene officials on Friday at a news conference announced they have detected in a local patient a rare strain of HIV that is highly resistant to most antiretroviral drugs and causes a rapid onset of AIDS, the New York Times reports. The city health department also issued an alert to physicians, hospitals and medical providers asking them to test all HIV-positive patients for evidence of the strain (Santora/Altman, New York Times, 2/12). City Health Commissioner Thomas Frieden said, "We have not seen a case like this before. It holds the potential for a very serious public health problem" (Goldman, Bloomberg News/Philadelphia Inquirer, 2/12). Although drug-resistant HIV strains are common in patients who have been treated with antiretroviral drugs, multiple-drug-resistant HIV is "extremely rare" in patients who are newly diagnosed and previously untreated, according to a health department release (New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene release, 2/11). In addition, HIV infection usually takes about 10 years to progress to an AIDS diagnosis, but this patient apparently progressed to AIDS in a matter of months. This combination of highly drug resistant HIV and rapid disease progression has not been identified before, Long Island Newsday reports. Dr. David Ho, director of the Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center -- where the patient was diagnosed as HIV-positive in December 2004 -- said the combination of drug- resistant HIV and the patient's "rapid clinical and immunological deterioration is alarming" (Kerr [1], Long Island Newsday, 2/12). "We're talking about a single case," Ronald Valdiserri, deputy director of CDC's National Center for HIV, STD and TB Prevention, noted, but he added that the case is "quite alarming" and should serve "as a wake-up call to remember that HIV is still a formidable adversary" (Edozien, New York Post, 2/12).

New York City Patient
The virus was discovered in a New York City man -- whose name has not been released -- in his mid-40s who had frequent, unprotected anal intercourse with other men, often while using crystal methamphetamine, the AP/Yahoo! News reports (Dobnik, AP/Yahoo! News, 2/12). The strain, which is being called 3-DCR HIV, is resistant to three of the four classes of antiretroviral drugs, which means that 19 of the 20 available antiretroviral drugs would be ineffective for a person with this HIV strain (New York Post, 2/12). The patient was diagnosed as HIV-positive in December 2004 and already showed symptoms of AIDS despite a relatively recent infection. The man had tested HIV-negative as recently as 2003, according to the New York Times (Perez-Pena, New York Times, 2/12). Frieden said that based on early investigations, the patient could have developed AIDS in as little as two months or as much as 10 months after infection (Santora/Altman, New York Times, 2/12). Doctors at the Diamond AIDS Research Center recognized that the virus seemed to be a rare and "more dangerous" strain of HIV, and contacted city officials on Jan. 22, the New York Times reports. City officials repeatedly analyzed the conclusions before making a public announcement, according to the New York Times. Efforts to locate the man's sexual partners began immediately (Perez-Pena, New York Times, 2/12). The patient has been "extremely cooperative" with officials in tracking down his sexual partners, possibly "hundreds of them," the city health department said on Saturday, according to the New York Post. Officials said some of the man's partners already have been contacted and tested but locating everyone is an "ongoing effort," according to health department spokesperson Sandra Mullin, who added that no one else had tested positive for the new strain (Montefinise et al., New York Post, 2/13).

Warnings
Frieden said the case should focus increased attention on the importance of using protection during sexual intercourse, according to the AP/Albany Times Union (Dobnik, AP/ Albany Times Union, 2/12). Men who have sex with men and especially MSM who use crystal methamphetamine should be particularly careful to practice safe sex, he added (Talaga, Toronto Star, 2/12). "It's a new warning ... that safe sex practices remain the most effective way of preventing any HIV infection," Dr. John Greenspan, director of the AIDS Research Institute at the University of California-San Francisco, said (Perlman, San Francisco Chronicle, 2/12). New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg (R) said the new strain was "very worrisome," adding, "More than ever ... try not to engage in the drug culture at all, and in terms of unprotected sex, you are putting your life in jeopardy, and if you are infected, you are putting other people's lives in jeopardy" (Burdi, Long Island Newsday, 2/13). Ana Oliveira, executive director of Gay Men's Health Crisis, said, "We need to practice safer sex," adding, "New Yorkers must be vigilant and know that infection with resistant strains of HIV can be avoided" (Kerr [2], Long Island Newsday, 2/12).

Scope Unknown
The "ultimate significance" of the new strain is still "unknown," the Washington Post reports. "Only time will tell whether this was an isolated case or part of an outbreak of similar cases," Frieden said on Saturday, adding, "Only time will tell how widespread it becomes. But it is certainly possible to reduce its spread through prompt action, and that is what we are trying to do." Terje Anderson, executive director of the National Association of People with AIDS, said he is "uncertain" about the case's importance, according to the Post. "It really isn't clear what one case means," he said, adding, "It is premature to be talking about a 'supervirus' circulating out there in the population." Anthony Fauci, director of NIH's National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said the discovery is "not good news no matter how you slice it," but the new case will not necessarily transform the HIV/AIDS epidemic, according to the Post. The case could "turn out to be a rare event highlighting the need for better AIDS prevention strategies," or "it may mark the emergence of a very dangerous HIV strain whose spread could have global health implications," the Post reports (Brown, Washington Post, 2/13).

Search for Source, Spread
The search for the source of the new HIV strain has widened, and officials on Sunday said two other men were being studied to determine if they also had the rare form of the virus, the New York Times reports. One of the men, who was a sexual partner of the New York City man in October 2004, could be a potential "source" of the strain because it is known that he was HIV-positive before sexual contact with the New York City man, according to Ho. The other case is an unidentified San Diego patient who was found by searching the records of the commercial laboratory ViroLogic. Additional tests are needed to determine if the strains are the same, a process that could take more than one week, Ho said. He added that even if tests prove that the three cases are linked, it would "not necessarily mean that a super virus is on the loose" because genetic factors in the first man may have made his infection progress at an increased rate, according to the Times. The health department so far has contacted about 12 of the New York City man's sexual partners, according to Mullin. However, the man had sex with hundreds of men in recent weeks and does not know all of their names, according to the Times. Mullin said she did not know how many partners had agreed to participate in the epidemiological investigation or what the findings were. At least one man who was a sexual partner of the New York City man has declined to participate in the investigation, according to Ho. Frieden reiterated that the city cannot determine whether the strain is an isolated event in one man or whether it had spread to a small or large cluster of people (Altman, New York Times, 2/14).

More Research Needed
Following the announcement, experts have said that more study is needed to assess the danger of the virus, including whether it could be transmitted easily, if it could weaken others' immune systems as quickly and be as resistant to antiretroviral treatment as it has been in the New York City man, the New York Times reports. Experts said the disease may have progressed so rapidly because of the individual patient, not because of the particular strain. Laboratory tests in which the HIV is added to immune system cells to see if it replicates faster than other strains and mixed with other strains to see if it attacks immune cells more effectively should be conducted, experts said, according to the Times. Scientists emphasized that it is "still too early to tell" how rare the HIV strain might be or whether it would spread, according to the New York Times (McNeil/Altman, New York Times, 2/13).

Recommendations
Frieden at the conference issued several recommendations:

* MSM must work to reduce the risk of HIV infection and the spread of the drug-resistant strains;
* New York City physicians must increase HIV prevention counseling and testing and perform drug susceptibility testing for HIV-positive patients;
* City physicians should work to improve antiretroviral drug adherence and notification of partners of HIV-positive patients;
* The public health community must improve monitoring of HIV treatment and drug resistance and must implement effective prevention strategies;
* HIV-positive patients currently taking antiretroviral medications do not need susceptibility testing unless they are advised by their physician.

Dr. Antonio Urbina, medical director of HIV/AIDS education and training at St. Vincent's Medical Center in New York, warned that the growing crystal methamphetamine epidemic is playing a "significant role" in HIV transmission, adding, "In light of the emergence of this virulent new strain, health care providers must be especially vigilant in not only recognizing and diagnosing HIV infection but also in recognizing the signs and symptoms of crystal methamphetamine use in their patients" (Windsor, 365Gay.com, 2/11). Physicians disagree about the role methamphetamine might play in making drug users more susceptible to HIV infection, although most agree that it lowers a person's inhibitions and can lead to more frequent, unprotected sex with multiple partners, the New York Times reports (Perez-Pena/Santora, New York Times, 2/13). The city health department is monitoring laboratories for other cases of the new HIV strain and is working with the state to establish a long-term system for monitoring drug resistance in HIV- positive patients who have not yet started treatment (365Gay.com, 2/11).

Alert Draws Criticism
Some experts questioned the need for the public health announcement based on a single case. "This is not novel and the odds are enormous that it is not going to go anywhere," Dr. Robert Gallo, director of the University of Maryland's Institute for Human Virology, said (Reuters, 2/12). One case is "not enough to warrant a public health alert," Gallo, who co-discovered HIV, said, adding, "It's irresponsible and outrageous. We've already heard past claims about superviruses that all turn out to be nonsense. From the science, I would say the probability is very high that you won't see this virus again." Dr. John Moore, an AIDS researcher at Cornell University Weill Medical College, agreed that city officials had " overblown" the danger presented by the new strain. "My guess is this is a relatively poorly transmitted virus," Moore said. However, Bloomberg said the city was correct in issuing a warning because it has "first and foremost a responsibility to educate the public as to what they can do to save their lives" ( Kerr, Long Island Newsday, 2/13).

Reaction Mixed
People reacted with "fear and skepticism" to reports of the new HIV strain, but "few were surprised" that a potentially more dangerous strain had arisen because the "sense of urgency about the disease has waned" in recent years, the New York Times reports. The "prevailing attitude" of complacency -- partly attributable to the availability of antiretroviral treatment for HIV/AIDS -- had many people worried about a new strain emerging, according to the New York Times (Perez-Pena/Santora, New York Times, 2/13). Thomas Farley, a community health expert at the Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, said, "There's a lot of evidence that gay men have backed away from safe sex practices. And as a nation, both gay men and the rest of us have become much more complacent about AIDS. That sets us up for new sexually transmitted infections to emerge and for any old ones to reemerge" (Confessore, New York Times, 2/12). Some physicians said they are worried about the lack of treatment options available for the new HIV strain and the potential implications if the strain spreads to other patients. "This may be the tip of the iceberg," Dr. Charles Gonzalez, an AIDS specialist at the New York University Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital, said, adding, "If this one starts getting around, we're back to the early '80s." He continued, "In the beginning of the AIDS crisis, we had no treatment. Again, we have absolutely no treatment" (Shin, New York Daily News< /a>, 2/12). Jay Dobkin, medical director of the AIDS Center at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, said, "Many of us here remember the dark days before there was any effective treatment for HIV, and I think ... [the discovery of the new HIV strain] should at least be a reminder that those days could come back" (Lombardi, New York Daily News, 2/12). The New York Times on Monday examined reaction to the announcement in gay chat rooms, Web logs and dating sites, where "a touch of anger and fear" existed, but with most people " advising against panic" (Cave, New York Times, 2/14).

Conference Planned To Study Meth-HIV Link
The Salt Lake Tribune on Monday examined the issue of methamphetamine use as it relates to higher prevalence rates of HIV and hepatitis C. Researchers in August are scheduled to gather at the Science and Response in 2005 Conference for what is being called the first national conference on the issue of meth use and HIV and hepatitis infection (Guidos, Salt Lake City, 2/14). Why there is multi-drug resistant HIV in New York, Terrence Higgins Trust statement
13 Feb 2005

Lisa Power, Head of Policy at Terrence Higgins Trust said: "Multi-drug-resistant HIV is known, both in the US and in Canada. It is the result of treatment, which fails, either because the drug is not strong enough, or because it is not taken at the right time. Multi-drug-resistant strains of HIV can be passed on.

"This case is certainly worrying, but it is important to bare in mind that complete drug resistance is still very rare, and that people with the same strain of HIV can progress at very different speeds to AIDS symptoms."

PUSH HR 748 and Right to know the facts bills
From IFRL Daily News :
[quote]
This is a congressional Action Alert from the National Right to Life Committee (NRLC)
in Washington, issued February 11, 2005.

Federal Parental Notification Bill Introduced in U.S. House of Representatives

-- Urge Your Representatives to Cosponsor H.R. 748

WASHINGTON (February 11, 2005) -- All members of the U.S. House of Representatives
should be urged to immediately cosponsor the Child Interstate Abortion Notification
Act (H.R. 748). The bill is a top priority of the National Right to Life Committee
(NRLC).

The Child Interstate Abortion Notification Act (CIANA, pronounced "SEE-anna")
was introduced on February 10, 2005, by Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-Fl.),
with 105 original cosponsors. You can check the always-current list of cosponsors,
arranged by state, at the Legislative Action Center on the NRLC website, here: http://www.capwiz.com/nrlc/issues/bills/?bill

All pro-life groups and citizens are encouraged to contact U.S. House members to
urge them to cosponsor H.R. 748, or to thank those who have already done so. All
House offices may be reached by telephone through the Capitol Switchboard at 202-225-3121
(when provided with the caller's zip code, the operator will transfer the call to
the appropriate House member's office). The NRLC Legislative Action Center makes
it easy to send appropriate e-mails to any U.S. House member regarding this legislation;

useful aid for grassroots lobbying.

GENERAL TALKING POINTS ON THE CHILD INTERSTATE ABORTION NOTIFICATION ACT (CIANA)

Over 30 states have enacted parental notification or parental consent laws. (To
view or download a factsheet on these laws, click here (http://www.nrlc.org/federal/ccpa/index.html).

However, these laws are often circumvented by minors traveling or being transported
to other states that do not have parental notification requirements, often under
pressure from older boyfriends or at the urging of abortion providers. In order
to protect the welfare of minor girls and the rights of parents, Congress has a
duty to regulate this interstate activity.

The CIANA requires any abortionist to notify a parent before performing an abortion
on a minor who is a resident of another state, unless the minor has already received
authorization from a court in her home state, or unless the abortionist is already
required to provide such parental notification by a current law in the state in
which he practices. If the minor asserts that she is the victim of abuse, the abortionist
would notify the appropriate state child abuse agency instead of a parent.

H.R. 748 also incorporates the provisions of the "Child Custody Protection
Act," a bill originally proposed in 1998, under which it would be a federal
offense to transport a minor across state lines for an abortion without fulfilling
the requirements of a parental notification law in effect in the home state.

Parental notification and parental consent laws are supported by overwhelming majorities
of the public -- exceeding 80% in some polls. For a sampling of public opinion
polls on this issue, please click here (http://www.nrlc.org/federal/ccpa/ParentalPolls042904.html).

Women's Group Educates State Lawmakers about Abortion-Breast Cancer Link

(CABC) The Coalition on Abortion/Breast Cancer notes that Georgia and other states
are considering informed consent legislation that would require state health departments
and/or doctors to tell women about the breast cancer risks of abortion.

Three years ago, a widely reported scientific review of 47 studies in 30 countries
reported that breast cancer rates in developed nations could be cut by over 50%
if women would have more children and breastfeed them longer. [1]

Experts agree that increased childbearing, starting before age 24, provides the
best way to prevent breast cancer. Biological evidence shows that a third trimester
process in pregnancy provides the only mechanism for a woman to mature her breast
tissue into cancer-resistant tissue. [2]

Common sense says you can't have more children and breastfeed them if you also abort
your pregnancies.

Experts agree that the woman who chooses to abort has an increased breast cancer
risk in comparison to the woman who carries her pregnancy to term. They disagree
whether the woman who aborts has an increased risk in comparison to the effect of
never having had that pregnancy. A pregnant woman, however, doesn't have the choice
of never having had that pregnancy.

"Would lawmakers deprive a pregnant woman of her right to know about recognized
cancer risks of abortion? asked Karen Malec, president of the coalition."

Several medical groups recognize that abortion raises risk beyond the loss of the
protective effect of childbearing by leaving the woman with more cancer-vulnerable
breast tissue. [3]

Before abortion was legalized in 1973, one in twelve American women developed the
disease in her lifetime. Today, one in seven develops it.

"Hopefully, lawmakers want to reduce female breast cancer rates," declared
Mrs. Malec. "Two medical malpractice lawsuits in the U.S. and two in Australia
have been successfully prosecuted because doctors didn't warn women about the increased
risks of breast cancer and psychological harm. [4,5,6]

"Depriving women of their rights will only cause more women to file - and win
- malpractice lawsuits."

The facts would lead any reasonable person to the right conclusion. We encourage
our supporters in all states to contact their elected officials and other policy-makers
and share their views on this important issue. [end quote]

How a person becomes reprobate.
Scripture tells the root cause of, the damnation of, the progression of depravity, and the end result of homosexuality:

"For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness, and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness {contempt} because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of Him from the Creation of the World, are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so they are without excuse.

Because that, when they knew God, they glorified Him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their foolish imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools; and changed the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man and to birds, and four-footed beasts and creeping things; Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, through the lusts of their own bodies between themselves, to dishonour the own bodies between themselves. Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature, more than The Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

For this cause, God gave them up to vile affections, for event their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature; and likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men, working that which is unseemly [improper, not fitting] ; and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet [due them].

And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, [forsaken beyond redemption, foreordained to eternal damnation, rejected by God for eternity] to do those things which are not convenient;

Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness, full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity, whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, covenant-breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful.

Who knowing the Judgement of God, that they which do such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

The right to life is the most basic right of all!
There is a lot of debate on the issues of life but not nearly enough. The case of Terri Schiavo,in Florida, and the on-going battle pitting the prolifers against the prodeathers, is proof of that. The fact of the matter is a person must first be alive to need any other rights! A dead person needs nothing. So it cannot be 'health care' when it kills a person, and it cannot be 'mercy' either! There is no mercy in taking the life of another. God said, "thou shalt not kill' in Exodus 20:13, and there is a period after that. Thou shalt not kill period. Individuals should not kill anyone for any reason, and God put into place a punishment intended to deter such crime. From Genesis 9:6, "whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed, for in the image of God made He man."
